(Dallas, TX – September 9, 2011) – The Moinian Group, one of the industry’s most active development firms, is proud to host the Inaugural Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Renaissance Tower, its office property located at 1201 Elm Street in Dallas, TX.
The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb first began in 2005 in Denver, Colorado, when five local firefighters gathered to pay tribute to the FDNY members who lost their lives four years earlier. This year, a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb will take place at the Renaissance Tower in Dallas on Sunday, September 11, 2011, the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
At 8 p.m., 343 firefighters representing 84 departments from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arizona will climb 110 stories, signifying the number of floors in the World Trade Center. Each firefighter will carry a badge decorated with the name and photograph of a New York City firefighter who was lost on September 11th, 2001.
“We are extremely proud to host the first Dallas 9/11 Stair Climb at our Renaissance Tower. It’s an honor to bring the event to Dallas, to remember those who sacrificed their lives on that tragic day,” said Joseph Moinian, CEO of The Moinian Group, owners of renaissance Tower. “The memorial stair climb has raised over $120,000 to support local firemen killed or injured in the line of duty and their families.”
To volunteer at the Memorial Stair Climb, call 972-268-4738 or contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Active duty firefighters interested in participating are asked to pay a registration fee of $25, and can collect a pledge of $1 per floor.
